Why would my computer fail to boot and appear with a blue screen error after BIOS is restored to the default settings?

Category : Software / Firmware / Applications

Generally, there are three modes available under the BIOS settings of SATA Controller mode:

AHCI, RST mode, and IDE mode (this option is only available on older motherboards).

If your system is installed under AHCI mode, the SATA Controller mode must be maintained in AHCI mode to function normally for startup.

If you switch to RST mode, the system may either fail to boot or appear with a blue screen error as shown below.

Similarly, if your system is installed under RST mode, the SATA Controller mode must be maintained in RST mode for normal booting.

If you switch to AHCI mode, the system may either fail to boot or appear with a blue screen error as shown below.

Therefore, before making any changes to the BIOS settings (such as restoring to the factory-default settings);

please double check with the current SATA Controller mode to avoid blue screen errors and failure in system boot-up.
